The basic principles
of our faith:
As Presbyterians, we are first and foremost Christians—those who look to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We believe…
… The Mystery of the Trinity – that the one living and true God has revealed Himself in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
… The Incarnation of the Eternal Word of God in Jesus Christ – that in Jesus Christ, God has put on human flesh.
… That we are put into a right relationship with God by grace alone and through faith alone.
…That Scripture alone is our final authority for salvation and the life of faith.
Principles and
practices of our faith that especially motivate our participation in IFC:
We believe we are called to demonstrate God’s love by serving the community—reaching out in love and service, responding to the needs within the community. God calls us to “do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with our God” and we are eager to partner with those who are responding to that same call.
Primary community
outreach / mission / service / involvement activities:
FPC seeks to “share the heart of Jesus Christ with the heart of the city…and the world” and we’re doing that in a variety of ways—partnering with various organizations, initiatives and cooperative networks with volunteers and financial support. Some highlights include:
- Building houses with Habitat for Humanity including the upcoming PresBuild 2012 when we will again partner with Presbyterian churches in the area
- Partnering with Realities for Children, including hosting the annual Nightlights event as well as Bikes for Tykes
- Hosting McBackpacks, a partnership with Poudre Schools, in which volunteers pack weekly more than 100 backpacks that provide food over the weekend for those students who rely on school-provided meals
