Name of Affiliated Agency:
Homelessness Prevention Initiative
Service Program(s) and description:
Homelessness / Housing
We provide temporary emergency rental assistance to families
in the Poudre School District
(PSD). To
qualify for our services is simple: they have to live in PSD
area, have a sustainable
income of some sort; and can only use
our services once a year.
Education Extra Option
When funded, HPI's Education Extra
option can provide a second round at rental assistance
for motivated clients willing to improve their financial literacy. This is an
option to receive
assistance from us an additional time.
The qualifications are the same as our regular assistance
but they have to take a 2-hour class on
financial literacy and then a one-on-one counseling
session as well."
We serve . . .
We are currently serving families that live in the PSD (Fort Collins, LaPorte, Wellington).
Families have to have some household
income and can only use our services once a year,
unless they decide to take part in our
Education Extra program.
Location and days/hours of service:
"There are several locations families can go to to receive assistance. These are our
Intake Centers. We have appointments available for every business day of the
month.
Please call 211 or 970.407.7066 to find
out when and where you can make appointments.

Benefits we derive
from participation in Interfaith Council:
We were created by IFC. Also, it allows us to network with
churches
and the community and they give us support, volunteers and funding, which
helps our organization in a big way.
